Private Training with Kate Abbott

During training sessions, Kate will discuss your dog, his actions and behaviors, your concerns, and your goals and will work with you to achieve those goals.

Kate Abbott offers personalized training sessions at your home or at the Kindred Spirits Dog Training and Canine Education Center at 3343 East Vista Way in Vista, CA.

During private training sessions, Kate can:

• Evaluate your dog for inclusion in a group obedience classes
• Introduce obedience commands, including sit, down, stay, come, and walk on a leash nicely
• Show you how to implement those commands effectively
• Address some behavioral problems
• Discuss how to implement lifestyle changes
• Assist you in following up with recommendations from Liz’s behavioral consultations

Occasionally, Kate may recommend that owners contact their veterinarian to verify that a behavior problem may or may not be caused by a health problem. Medications can also cause behavior changes.

Important Information

Scheduling: Kate is available by appointment only. She is teaching group classes on weekday evenings and is available for private training appointments on week days and on a limited basis on Saturdays and Sundays.

If your appointment is at the Kindred Spirits location, please arrive on time as the scheduled time is yours. If Kate is coming to your home, please be at home.

Rates: Each private training session is $75 for one hour. If the session lasts for more than one hour, each half hour increment is $25. Payment is due at the beginning of the session and may be paid for by cash or check.

If you need directions to the Kindred Spirits location, email Kate at akabbott@cox.net, or call 760-630-4824 ahead of time. Don’t wait until the last minute as we may be involved with another client when you try to contact us.

Cancellation: If you must cancel, please do so at least 24 hours ahead of time. If you do not cancel and do not show up, you will be billed for that time as we will have been unable to make another appointment for that time slot.

Your dog: If your dog has some health challenges, is on medications, or has some physical disabilities, please bring a copy of his medical information with you to your appointment.

If you were referred to us by your veterinarian, please bring his/her name and contact information.

Have with you any training tools or aids that you have been using or have used in the past.

If your dog is aggressive in any way, please bring him to the appointment wearing a muzzle.
