Puppy Classes:
 Puppies must be at least ten weeks old (and no older than sixteen weeks of age) and have had two full sets of shots prior to starting the class. We will ask for proof of vaccinations. Classes are seven weeks in length, one hour each week, $85 for the course.
Emphasis includes socialization to other dogs and puppies; teaching owners how to control their puppies and introducing self control to the puppies; behavior problem prevention and solving; and the basic obedience commands: sit, down, stay, come and more.
This puppy class participates in the American Kennel Club’s STAR Puppy Program.
Classes are held on Saturdays at 9:00 am and puppies can begin any Saturday. For your first class, come about 15 minutes early for registration (bring vaccination records). Classes will begin on Monday evenings on April16 after daylight savings time begins.
No classes on major holidays or when it’s raining. If in doubt, call 760-630-4824.
Basic Obedience Classes:
For dogs over 4 months of age or for graduates of the puppy class. Basic obedience commands (sit, down, stay, come, heel, and more) are taught as well as problem prevention and solving. Classes are one hour a week for seven weeks, for $99. Class starting dates and times are:

A Note About Children in Class
Kindred Spirits Dog Training encourages the entire family to attend classes. This is important for the dog's learning but also helps ensure everyone interacts with the dog in the same way. However, to keep this a safe learning experience for everyone, we must have some rules concerning children in class.
* For the safety of both dogs and people attending classes, we ask that children remain close - within arm's reach - of their parents. The Kindred Spirits' trainers want everyone to remain safe in class but cannot supervise children.
* Not all dogs are safe with kids nor well socialized to kids, so children are not to pet other dogs in class. This applies even if the other dog owner says the dog is friendly.
* Nor should children attending class disturb other dogs and their owners. After all, everyone is there to learn.
* Kids are not to run in class either as dogs are more prone to chase children who run.
* The class is designed for adults and while the children may participate in the class with their parents, an adult must be the primary trainer.

Dog training classes for graduates
Kindred Spirits Dog Training offers many additional fun classes for Kindred Spirits’ Basic Obedience Class graduates. We have agility drop in fun sessions, trick training, rally, flyball, therapy dog training, intermediate and advanced obedience. All at very reasonable prices. Take a look at our schedule! We’re sorry but because of differences in training techniques and to make sure there is room in the classes for our students, these classes are not open to graduates from other training programs.

Dog behavior private consultation
Behavioral Consultation: If your dog is driving you nuts, you have concerns about his behavior, or if you have some specific issues you would like to discuss, Liz Palika, CPDT, CABC, is available for behavioral consultations.
