Liz Palika has been teaching dogs and their owners in San Diego's North County for 25 years. Her training is based on an understanding of dogs and what makes them 'tick.' There is no funny stuff here, but lots of common sense. With her business partners Petra Burke and Kate Abbott, Kindred Spirits Dog Training in Vista, CA has more than 700 dogs per year in its dog training program.
In addition to puppy, beginning and intermediate classes, Kindred Spirits offers fun activities for families and their dogs: agility, trick training, therapy dog training, carting, flyball, and an assortment of special events like canine freestyle (dancing with your dog) and our annual Halloween party. Safety training events include an annual rattlesnake avoidance clinic and Red Cross Pet First Aid. All of these take place at our beautiful park-like outdoor facility in Vista.
Kindred Spirits' weekly drop-in classes offer families the opportunity to keep their dog's skills up-to-date without the pressure of having to attend every week. For dogs needing additional help, private one-on-one training and behavior consultations are available.
In addition Kindred Spirits Canine Education Center trains service dogs and their owners. As a federally registered 501(C)3 charity, your donations are tax deductible.
Our goal is to help families and their dogs build a happy and successful life-long relationship. Please feel free to contact us by email or phone 760-630-4824 for more information. Thank you for visiting Kindred Spirits! |
Camp Pendleton Marines and Sailors in Base Housing
As of October 2009, the authorities on Camp Pendleton have stated that Marines and Sailors in base housing on Camp Pendleton who own Pit Bulls, Pit Bull mixes, Rottweilers, Rottie mixes, and wolf hybrids must take their dog through an AKC Canine Good Citizen test and the dog must pass to remain in base housing.
To help Marines and Sailors and their families keep their dogs, we are offering a program of training for the dogs to achieve that result. Marines and Sailors need to bring their dogs to one of our free evaluation dates. At that time, Kindred Spirits training will evaluate the dog and owner's level of training and control.
If you want more information on the American Kennel Club CGC program to see if your dog needs more training or not, go to the AKC’s website.
